Winslow’s Ma’Syiah Brawner warms up for Penn Relays with Woodbury Relays triple jump meet record and best jump in New Jersey this year!!!!!!!!

Winslow senior Ma’Syiah Brawner warmed up for the Penn Relays with a state-leading triple jump at Woodbury Saturday.

Brawner won the triple at 39-8 ½, which broke the meet record of 38-5 set by Northern Burlington’s Ashley Edwards in 2015.

Brawner had a strong series, opening with a 37-1, then jumping 38-11 ¼, 39-8 ½ and then 39-5 ½. All four jumps were made with legal wind. She jumped within 6 ½ inches of her lifetime best, a 40-3 from her state Group 3 title at South Plainfield last May with a legal 0.1 tailwind. That’s No. 3 in South Jersey history.

Brawner competes in the triple jump at noon Thursday at the 130th running of the Penn Relays at Franklin Field.

Brawner also raced Saturday on Winslow’s shuttle hurdles team, which won Group 3 in 59.10, 6th-fastest time in state history. More on that group this afternoon.
