The Cape-Atlantic League dominates the top of the all-time South Jersey outdoor 800-meter run list, with the top two times in South Jersey history and nine of the top 15!
And from six different high schools!
The all-time South Jersey 800 list is interesting because the top 16 spots haven’t changed since 2014.
It took 1:53.84 to make the top 50 and if you see a time that’s missing or a time that’s incorrect, please leave all the details in the comment section!

Reub, Dick Caton ran 1:49.72 at the 1979 Jr. nationals. You listed it in your county list but must of over looked it on this list. Once again this stuff is great!!

Yeah, there was some question about whether those “AAU nationals” were an extension of the spring season, in which case marks would count as HS marks, or whether it was a summer track meet, in which case they wouldn’t. We finally decided it was a post-season meet and the marks should count, but I never changed Caton’s time back to the 1:49 on this list, only the Gloucester County list. So that’s what happened. I’ll do it right now. Thanks for the heads up!
