Winslow senior Quayd Hendryx ran the 6^th-fastest legal 200 in South Jersey history Wednesday when he placed 2^nd in the Meet of Champions at Pennsauken.

Hendryx ran 21.19 with a legal 0.3 meters-per-second headwind, lowering his PR from 21.37 at the Camden County Championships at Haddon Township last month. Hendryx was 4^th in the M-of-C 200 last year in 21.47 as a Burlington Township junior.

Hendryx’s time is No. 14 in meet history including all wind conditions.

Earlier in the day, Hendryx ran on Winslow’s 1^st-place 400-meter relay team, which ran 40.97, 4^th-fastest in state history.

Jamell Wilmote, a senior at North Brunswick, won the race in 20.77, 2^nd-fastest in meet history and 3^rd-fastest in state history.

Pemberton senior Jaden Goins placed 6^th in 21.66, Camden senior Jaiden Steele was 8^th in 21.78 and Eastern senior Ashton Gage ran 21.86 for 10^th.

Sianni Wynn won her state-record 15^th total Meet of Champions titles Wednesday when she tied her 200 PR after winning the 100 earlier in the day on her home track at Pennsauken.

Wynn won the 200 in 23.05 with legal wind after winning the 100 in a legal 11.45. The 23.05 is just 9-100ths of a second off the state record of 22.96 set by Sydney McLaughlin in 2017.

Wynn now has seven outdoor Meet of Champions titles, 3^rd-most ever behind Natalie Dumas and Jodie Bilotta, along with her eight indoor M-of-C titles. She’s never lost a race at a Meet of Champions.

Wynn’s 11.45 is 3^rd-fastest in meet history and her 23.05 breaks the FAT meet record of 23.20 that she set last year. Trenton’s Wendy Vereen ran a hand-timed 23.0 in 1983 and that will be listed alongside Wynn’s time in the record books.

Wynn also anchored Pennsauken’s winning 400-meter relay team, which ran 45.33 to obliterate the meet record of 46.22 set last year by Union Catholic. That’s 3-100ths off their state record from the Penn Relays.

Natalie Dumas tied the legendary Jodie Bilotta for most individual Meet of Champions titles Wednesday with her 3^rd win of the day in the 800.

Dumas ran 2:03.46 and held off sophomore Stella Blanchard of the Wilberforce School in Plainsboro, who ran 2:03.64. Dumas now has eight lifetime outdoor M-of-C individual titles and 11 including indoor. That’s 2^nd-most behind Pennsauken’s Sianni Wynn, who won her 14^th earlier Wednesday in the 100 and will run the 200 soon.

Dumas’s time is her fastest since West Philly Nationals a year ago, which she won in a state-record 2:00.11.

Haddonfield’s Dylan Hosty was 4^th in 2:06.04, lowering her own state freshman record, Ocean City junior Carly Godfrey ran 2:10.36 for 6^th place, and Moorestown sophomore Payton Derer ran 2:11.37 for 8^th place.

Winslow Township’s Keyon Ali, Quayd Hendryx, KaRon Caesar and Jaylon Moss ran the 4th-fastest 400-meter relay in state history Wednesday, ran the 2nd-fastest time in Meet of Champions history and won the 4-by-1 for the first time.

Winslow ran 40.97, 2^nd only to Burlington Township’s 40.75 to win last year’s race in meet history. Hendryx, who was at Burlington Township last year, ran on both teams.

South Jersey schools took four of the top five places, with Deptford 3^rd in 41.41, Williamstown 4^th in 41.50 and Camden 5^th in 41.70.

Deptford, with Liam Brown, Xavion Holmes, Johann Hernandez and Kareem Brown, ran the 11s^t-fastest time in South Jersey history and 7^th-fastest in meet history, and Williamstown, with Jasiah Gibbons, Ian Israel Jr., Joshua George-Oyewole and Omofolawe Adepelumi, ran the 20^th-fastest time in state history and 13^th-fastest in meet history. Jawan Brownlee, Christian Braxton, Wasi Muhammad and Jaiden Steele ran for Camden.

Deptford senior Mason Henry, needing to clear a pole vault PR to take over the lead, cleared a lifetime-best 15-6 to win the vault at the Meet of Champions at Pennsauken.

Henry, who had cleared 15-6 indoors but never outdoors, was behind Hunterdon Central’s Ryan Shalley when the bar moved up to 15-6. Shalley was clean through 15-0 and Henry had a miss at 15-0.

But Henry cleared 15-6 on his 1st attempt, Shalley didn’t get over the bar and Henry became Deptford’s 3rd Meet of Champions winner.

Henry’s 15-6 equals 6th-best in South Jersey history and equals the 2nd-best vault ever by a South Jersey athlete at the Meet of Champions. Ryan Merlino won the 2024 meet at 16-0. Ed Frey of Cinnaminson also cleared 2025 last year when he placed 2nd. The 15-6 is tied for 8th-best in meet history.

Deptford’s only other individual winners at the Meet of Champions are Ken Manahan in the discus in 1976 and Bruce Owens in the 100 in 2004. The 4-by-1 team won in 2018.

Riley Fayer ran the 3^rd-fastest 1,600 by a New Jersey Group 1 runner Wednesday when she placed 4^th in a fast Meet of Champions race at Pennsauken.

Fayer ran 4:52.48, lowering her PR from 4:55.96 from the state Group 1 meet last week in Somerset.

Her time is No. 11 on the all-time South Jersey list. Her time is fastest by a South Jersey girl at the Meet of Champions since Haddonfield’s Briana Gess ran 4:48.05 to win the 2015 race at South Plainfield.

Only three other South Jersey girls have run faster at a Meet of Champions: Erin Donohue of Haddonfield, Ocean City’s Renee Tomlin and Washington Township’s Michelle Rowen.

Fayer recorded some wild negative splits, out in 2:30.06 [73.29 / 76.77] but back in 2:22.43 [71.87 / 70.71].

Delsea senior Hannah Nuhfer won her 2^nd straight Meet of Champions discus title Wednesday at Pennsauken and surpassed the meet record four times.

Nuhfer, the U.S. champion and state record holder at 184-5, threw 180-3 on her 2^nd attempt and also had a 180-0 on her 5^th throw, a 177-0 on her 3^rd, and a 172-6 on her final throw. Those are the four-best throws in Meet of Champions history.

The previous meet record was 171-7 by Layla Giordano of Old Tappan in 2024.

Nuhfer is the first South Jersey girl to repeat a M-of-C discus title since Cherokee’s Jessica Woodard, a 2022 World Championship finalist, won three in a row from 2011 through 2013.

Nuhfer, who also recorded a 166-4 on her 4^th throw , had the five-best throws of the competition.

Glassboro’s record-setting tandem of senior Sunsarai Moore and junior Virginia Tarasevich placed 3^rd and 4^th, Moore with a 152-2 on her final throw and Tarsevich with a PR 147-0 – No. 10 in South Jersey history. They are the only teammates in New Jersey history to both throw at least 145 feet in the same meet, and they’ve now done it twice in a row.

Natalie Dumas began her final Meet of Champions by winning her 3^rd consecutive 400-meter hurdles state title Wednesday afternoon at Pennsauken.

Dumas had to hold off Union Catholic junior Sydney Chadwick, who gave Dumas a valiant challenge.

Dumas won the race in 57.04 and Chadwick was 2^nd in 57.39. Only four-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin has run faster in Meet of Champions history.  Those are the two-fastest times in the U.S. this year.

Dumas’s time is her fastest since she won West Philly Nationals in 55.99 last June at Franklin Field, 6^th-fastest in U.S. high school history. Chadwick’s time is 4th-fastest in New Jersey history, behind McLaughlin, Dumas and Winslow’s Krystal Cantey, who ran 56.83 at 2005 Greensboro Nationals.

Dumas has now won 24 consecutive 400-meter hurdles races and hasn’t lost since her first race as a sophomore on April 13, 2024, when she was 2^nd to Danya Spoor of Oak Knoll School in Summit at the Lenape Invitational. She’s won two national titles since then.

With the 400 and 800 remaining, she’s now won six Meet of Champions individual titles, 2^nd-most in Meet of Champions history. North Hunterdon distance ace Jodie Bilotta won eight from 1986 through 1988.

Dumas is the third girl to win three consecutive Meet of Champions 400-meter hurdles races. Andrea Johnson of Plainfield won three in a row from 1981 through 1983 and world record holder and four-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin won four straight from 2014 through 2017.

Dumas is the 6^th South Jersey girl to win three straight MoC titles in the same event, following Willingboro’s Carol Lewis [long jump from 1978 through 1981], Erin Donohue of Haddonfield [1,600 from 1999 through 2001], Michelle Brown of Seneca [400 from 2008 through 2010], Cherokee’s Jessica Woodard [discus from 2011 through 2013], Haddonfield’s Briana Gess [1,600 from 2014 through 2016].

Sianni Wynn of Pennsauken has a chance to add her name to the list in both the 100 and 200 later Wednesday on her home track and Dumas has a chance to add a second event to that list later in the day in the 400.

Winslow junior Cinniya Robinson placed 3rd with a PR 59.80 – 7th-fastest in South Jersey history – and Pennsauken sophomore Hope Edwards ran 1:00.30 for 4th.

Lindenwold senior Egypt Bolan cleared 5-8 to win the Meet of Champions high jump title Wednesday at Pennsauken, becoming the first South Jersey girl to win the high jump in back-to-back Meet of Champions.

Bolan, the national outdoor champion last year at 5-10 ¾, won last year’s Meet of Champions at 5-9. She clinched the title Wednesday when she was the only competitor to clear 5-8. She was clean at 5-4, 5-6 and 5-8

With the win secured, Bolan had the bar moved up to 5-10 ¼, which would have broken the meet record of 5-10 shared by six athletes, most recently Timber Creek’s Tierra Hooker in 2019. She missed three attempts.

Bolan is the first girl to repeat in the high jump since Fiona Paladino of Montgomery in 2010 and 2011.

South Jersey has dominated the M-of-C high jump, winning six of the last titles – Hooker in 2019, Clayton’s Alanna Woolfolk in 2021 and 2023, Williamstown’s Addison Inge in 2024 and Bolan the last two years.
