Winslow senior Quayd Hendryx ran the 6th-fastest legal 200 in South Jersey history Wednesday when he placed 2nd in the Meet of Champions at Pennsauken.
Hendryx ran 21.19 with a legal 0.3 meters-per-second headwind, lowering his PR from 21.37 at the Camden County Championships at Haddon Township last month. Hendryx was 4th in the M-of-C 200 last year in 21.47 as a Burlington Township junior.
Hendryx’s time is No. 14 in meet history including all wind conditions.
Earlier in the day, Hendryx ran on Winslow’s 1st-place 400-meter relay team, which ran 40.97, 4th-fastest in state history.
Jamell Wilmote, a senior at North Brunswick, won the race in 20.77, 2nd-fastest in meet history and 3rd-fastest in state history.
Pemberton senior Jaden Goins placed 6th in 21.66, Camden senior Jaiden Steele was 8th in 21.78 and Eastern senior Ashton Gage ran 21.86 for 10th.
