Rowan’s Masai Byrd from Rancocas Valley, Evan Corcoran from Kingsway, Eli Hendricks from Penns Grove and Rajahn Dixon from Eastern ran the 2nd-fastest 400-meter relay in NCAA Division 3 this year Saturday.
The all-South Jersey quartet won edge Pitt by 1-100th of a second and won the 4-by-1 at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville with a 40.30. Pitt was 2nd in 40.31.
The only faster time in Division 3 this year is Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s 40.14 in a home meet on Friday.
Rowan’s only faster times are 39.72 with Shamir Love of Bridgeton, Robert McKinney of Highland, Hendricks and Corcoran last year at the NCAA Championships and a 40.14 in 2023 with Love, Sterling’s Jah’mere Beasley, Jason Agyemang and Corcoran at the NCAA Championships. Those times are No. 3 and No. 10 in Division 3 history.
