Pennsauken ran the fastest 800-meter relay by a South Jersey school in 16 years Friday at Boston Nationals.

The team of freshman KaRon Ali, junior Bronze Whitmore, junior Elijah Jennings and senior Premier Wynn ran 1:28.77 and placed 11th in a loaded field at The Track at New Balance in Brighton, Mass.

That’s fastest by a South Jersey school since Camden ran 1:28.48 at the 2007 Hispanic Games at the Armory.

It’s also No. 7 in South Jersey history and No. 18 in state history.

Despite running one of the fastest times in state history, Pennsauken missed advancing to the final by 10-100ths of a second.
