Overall winner Aziz Muhammad-Kane paces Highland to Camden County triumph!!!!!

Overall winner Aziz Muhammad-Kane led four Highland runners in the top six, and the Tartans cruised Friday to their 9th Camden County XC title.

Muhammad-Kane, a junior, covered the 5,000-meter course at Timber Creek Park in 16:52, winning by 50 meters over Will Mrozinski of Paul VI, who was 2nd in 17:02.

Ethan Wence of Triton ran 3rd in 16:05, and then it was Highland / Highland / Highland, with senior Gavin Gallo, senior Jake Smith and senior Cole Knoedler each running between 17:10 and 17:15. Haddonfield had four finishers before anybody else had two.

Highland’s 5th and 6th runners finished together, senior Anthony Imperatore 15th in 18:08 and sophomore Mason Wassell 16th in 18:10.

Haddonfield, ranked No. 2 in New Jersey, finished 2nd with its B team. Highland finished with a 27-49 margin of victory over the Bulldogs, with PVI 3rd with 77 points.

The Tartans also won Camden County titles in 1979, 1991, 1996, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2016 and 2019.

Also in the top 10 were Audubon senior Joseph Gaspari [7th in 17:20] and then three Haddonfield runners – freshman Ryan Gibson [8th in 17:41], freshman Luke Andresen [9th in 17:50] and sophomore Bennett Wright [10th in 17:51].
