Junior Julia Brock, sophomore Noelia Reyes and sophomore Sarah Brown finished 6th, 10th and 15th, and the Moorestown girls won a wild three-way battle with Sterling and Haddon Heights in the Division 2 race Saturday at the South Jersey Open at DREAM Park in Logan Township.
Moorestown, Sterling and Haddon Heights all finished within four points of one another, Moorestown with 63, Sterling 66 and Haddon Heights 67.
Brock ran 20:13, Reyes 20:36 and Brown 21:22 to lead the Quakers, and Moorestown placed its four other runners between 20th and 25th. Junior Paige McCabe and sophomore Lila Dionis placed 20th and 22nd in 21:47 and 21:55 to round out the Quakers’ scoring group, and they were followed closely by sophomore Jane Goettle [23rd in 22:03] and sophomore Gabrielle DeJoseph [25th in 22:12], giving Moorestown seven runners between 6th and 25th.
Sterling was led by junior Cara Coppolino [5th in 20:09] and sophomore Jonalee Adams [7th in 20:15], and Heights by senior Ava Severino [2nd in 19:40], sophomore Grace Duffy [4th in 20:01] and senior Catey Gandolfo-Lucia [9th in 20:26].
Cinnaminson senior Stephanie Renouf won the race in 19:17, fastest ever by a cinnaminson girl at DREAM Park and 7th-fastest by a Burlington County girl. Renouf ran 19:31 last fall at Group 2 sectionals.
Also in the top 10 was Delsea sophomore Juliana Sieminski, who ran 20:19 and placed 8th.
