Mark Miller, a junior at Hillsdale College in Michigan, ran a big 800 PR Saturday at the Oiler Invitational at Findlay, Ohio.
Miller, a 2017 Shawnee graduate, ran 1:56.73 to place second behind Findlay’s Gabriel Foster, who ran 1:56.10.
The 1:56.73 is nearly a full second faster than Miller’s previous 800 PR of 1:57.54, set on his home track in a meet a year ago this week.
It ranks 3rd in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this winter season, behind Foster and Hillsdale’s Micah Vanderkooi [1:54.75].
Miller has focused mainly on the mile at Hillsdale, with a PR of 4:15.46 at the 2019 GMAC Championships, also at Findlay.
Miller ran 2:00.14 indoors and 2:00.86 outdoors at Shawnee. He had a 1,600 PR of 4:18.86 outdoors.
