Overall winner Allison Helkowski led five Kingsway runners among the top eight finishers, and the Kingsway girls rolled to the p.m. pod team title at the South Jersey Open.
Helkowski, a junior, ran 20:08 and Kingsway went 1-3-5-7-8 for 24 points at DREAM Park in Logan Township. Timber Creek junior Vanessa Marinero was second in 20:30, and Kingsway sophomore Aubrey Pierontoni ran 20:38 for 3rd in 20:38.
Kingsway finished with a 24-51 margin of victory over Williamstown, with Timber Creek third with 68 points.
Helkowski became Kingsway’s first winner at the South Jersey Open since Alexis Mullarkey in 2015, and the team title is Kingsway’s first since 2016.
Other Kingsway scorers were sophomore Nicole Lipieta [5th in 20:49], senior Sydney Watts [7th in 21:12] and junior Allison MacFarland [8th in 21:20].
Other South Jersey runners in the top 10 were senior Anna Sasse [4th in 20:43] and sophomore Alexa Fisher [6th in 21:04] of Williamstown, and Delsea sophomore Lilly Widmer [9th in 21:44].
