A Heisman Trophy winner and the South Jersey boys discus top-50 all-time performance list!!!

Check out the discus all-time top-50 list. How many former NFL players can you find?

There’s at least five – including a Heisman Trophy winner – who at least made it into an NFL training camp or were on a practice squad and a few who spent significant time in the league. Who can name all five? Maybe there are more … if you find six or more, you’ll get an all-time South Jersey top-50 performance list t-shirt (if there were such a thing).

Tomorrow we’ll continue with the old javelin and then on Thursday the new javelin!

As always, please don’t tweet corrections or omissions because I won’t see them. Send them to me in the comment section and I’ll get ’em corrected ASAP.

It’s been a long time but if I recall correctly Ron Dayne did that with a rubber practice discus.

If that record toss was the one at Jost Field in South Plainfield he hit a low neighboring fence beyond the sector so it should have been longer

The 216-11 was actually at Golden West. I remember him hitting that fence, though. That was at Meet of Champions, when he “only” threw 215-3!
