Ocean City packed its five scorers in an incredible eight seconds Friday afternoon and coasted to its third straight team title at the Osprey XC Invitational.
Ocean City, ranked No. 4 in South Jersey, outscored second-place Washington Township 25-98, placing all five of its scorers ahead of every runner from 19 of 21 other teams.
The Red Raiders had five of the first seven finishers in a field of 173.
Pitman senior Sebastien Reed beat the field by 250 meters, running 15:16 over the 5,000-meter course at Stockton University in Galloway Township, and Woodstown senior Xavier Seals took second in 16:05.
After that, it was all Ocean City, with seniors Anthony Conte and Max Kelly, junior Tyer Greene, senior Luke Kramer and sophomore Owen Ritti all running between 16:14 and 16:22.
Two other Red Raiders — seniors Erik Sacramento and Mike Farley also broke 17 minutes and finished 13th and 22nd, and two others, junior Brenan Schlatter and senior Frank Fabi, took 25th and 28th and also broke 17:15.
So nine of the first 28 finishers were from Ocean City.
