Williamstown’s Gabrielle Farquharson returns to the track on U.S. all-star relay teams!!!!!

We haven’t heard much from Williamstown High graduate Gabrielle Farquharson lately.

Farquharson won numerous state sprint and long jump titles at Williamstown and was an All-America sprinter at Rutgers, graduated in 2016 after winning Big 10 titles in the 100 and 200 and reaching NCAAs in the 100, 200 and long jump.

But she’s competed only sporadically since, competing in the Olympic Trials in 2016, indoor and outdoor nationals in 2017 and outdoor nationals last spring.

Farquharson re-emerged at the Penn Relays this past weekend and ran for Team U.S.A. in the U.S. vs. the World 400- and 1,600-meter relays.

Farquharson ran the third leg on both relay teams, joining Destinee Brown, Robin Reynolds and Asha Ruth on the 4-by-100 and Kaylin Whitney, Deonca Bookman and Kendall Baisden on the 4-by-400.

The 400-meter relay team placed fourth in 44.60, and the 1,600-meter relay team placed fifth in 3:36.11, with Farquharson splitting 54.49.
