Haddonfield won the 3,200-meter relay and placed 2nd in the distance medley, shuttle hurdles and sprint medley to win its 2nd straight Group 2 state relays title and 8th overall.

Haddonfield outscored 2nd-place Bernards 43-28, at the Bubble in Toms River with Willingboro 3rd with 26 points.

The results don’t show totals, but Montville, Ocean Township and Cranford are well over 90 feet and Mendham is close. I’m not going to add up all the totals, so we’ll have to see once they correct the scoring.

Willingboro got 2nd in the 800-meter relay, with Zahir Bryant, Christopher Jones, Jaylen Taylor and Samir Walker running 1:34.21, and Overbrook was 3rd with Andrew Powell, Jaiden Mitchell, Axcel Bailey and John Froelich.

RANCOCAS VALLEY’S MASAI BYRD SHATTERS ROWAN 60-METER DASH RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!

Rancocas Valley’s Masai Byrd shattered Rowan’s 60-meter dash record Friday at Ocean Breeze.

Byrd ran 6.79, breaking the school record of 6.82 that Byrd ran in the trials at the AARTFC Championships in Ithaca in March. That broke the record of 6.83 that Byrd ran two weeks earlier at the NJAC Championships at the Ott Center.

Byrd’s time is 5th-fastest in NCAA Division 3 this year and 2nd-fastest in the NJAC behind TCNJ’s Maxim Rychkov of Robbinsville, who ran 6.77 at the Armory last month.

Byrd finished 2nd in the race to post-collegiate Eloy Benitez of Puerto Rico, who ran 6.88. Benitez is the Puerto Rican national record holder at 60 meters with a 6.49 at the 2025 World Indoors in Nanjing, China.

Here’s my best attempt at an all-time South Jersey alumni 60-meter dash list:

GLASSBORO’S DALLAS HOHNEY OF ROWAN DESTROYS NCAA DIVISION 3 RECORD FOR 500 METERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bordentown’s Dallas Hohney smashed the NCAA Division 3 record for 500 meters and broke the 42-year-old Rowan record along the way Friday at Oeaan Breeze.

Hohney ran 1:02.33 to win the 2 ½-lap race in the Gotham Cup Invitational. He broke the Division 3 record of 1:02.64 set in March by Basheer Alramahi of John Carroll at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Hohney took down the school record of 1:03.04 set by Willie Lawson at the 1984 IC4A Championships at Princeton’s Jadwin Gym.

Although it’s a D-3 record, it’s not a PR. Hohney ran 1:01.74 last January at the Ott Center as a Rider sophomore.

Teddy Wilson of Toms River North wasn’t far behind Hohney in 2nd place in 1:03.18. That is now 5th-fastest on the all-time D-3 list, which is posted on the USTFCCA web site.

Hohney ran 1:50.71 last January, 3rd-fastest in Rider history.

Ocean City’s Elaina Styer smashes Stockton school record in 60-meter hurdles!!!!!!!!!

Ocean City’s Elaina Styer smashed her own Stockton University school record in the 60-meter hurdles Friday at Ocean Breeze.

After a near-PR 9.05 in the trials, Styer placed 2nd in the final of the Gotham Cup in 8.93, breaking her school record of 9.03 that she set at a meet in March at Tufts University in Medford, Mass., and then matched at Ocean Breeze last month.

Her time is tied for 10th-fastest on the 2026 NCAA Division 3 list with Rowan sophomore Nyla Jones from Timber Creek, who ran 8.93 last month on the same track.

Styer, from Estell Manor, has high jumped 5-5 ½ an long jumped 18-0 ½ so far this season. She’s not far off school records in both events – 5-6 by Lisa Sheperd of Oakcrest in 2008 and 18-4 ¼ by Jassina Surles from Williamstown in 2016.

In indoor opener, Julia Flanagan smashes Holy Cross mile record, moves into all-time Burlington County top-10!!!!!!

That breaks the overall Holy Cross record of 5:00.85 set by Kari Vigerstol when she won the 1993 outdoor Meet of Champions at South Plainfield.

It’s No. 10 in Burlington County history indoors and No. 22 on the all-time South Jersey list.

Trailing by six points going into the final event of the meet, Woodstown picked up a 4-by-4 win to clinch its first Group 1 state relays title at the Bubble.

Woodstown is the first Salem County school in 40 years to win a state relays title. Penns Grove won Group 1 in 1986.

Senior Josh Crawford was a triple winner for the Wolverines.

Defending-champion Glassboro led Woodstown and Glen Rock 34-28 going into the 1,600-meter relay, but Woodstown ran 3:32.59 with junior Kyle Reitz, senior Karson Chew, senior Anthony Costello and Crawford to win the race and pick up 10 points for a total of 38, Glen Rock placed 5th to finish with 30 and Glassboro placed 6th for one point and a final total of 32 for 2nd place.

Glassboro opened with a fast win in the distance medley, with senior Jaeden Wesley, sophomore Zacchaeus Harrigan, sophomore Aaron Johnson and sophomore Joseph Saicic running 10:43.76 and holding off 2nd-place Woodstown, which ran 10:45.69 with Jacob Marino, David Farrell, Crawford and Chew.

Those times are both school records and No. 6 and 8 in New Jersey this year and the two-fastest by South Jersey schools.

Woodstown turned the tables on Glassboro in the 4-by-800, with Chew, Marino, Farrell and Crawford running 8:09.20 and Glassboro 2nd in 8:20.74 with Saicic, Harrigan, Johnson and senior Jason Martin. Woodstown, which is No. 1 in New Jersey with its 8:00.24 at the Millrose Trials, just missed the Group 1 meet record of 8:06.41 set by Pleasantville in 2013.

Woodstown also won the sprint medley with Reitz, Costello, senior Benjamin Lippincott and Crawford running 3:38.84. Paul VI girls run 6th-fastest DMR in New Jersey this year at state relays!!!!!!

Paul VI senior Claire Magee, junior Grace Gutowski, senior Macy Huber and sophomore Peyton Blake placed 3rd in the distance medley Wednesday at the state relays.

Splits not available because it’s an NJSIAA meet and they can’t be bothered by things like relay splits, but PVI ran 12:33.40 and finished behind Oak Knoll School of Summit [12:21.25] and Scotch Plains all-star program [12:27.46].

PVI’s time is 3rd-fastest in South Jersey this year, behind Ocean City [12:24.53] and Cherokee [12:25.94], both from last week at the Ott Center. It’s No. 6 in New Jersey this year.

The performance is No. 3 all-time indoors by PVI behind last year’s 12:19.62 at the Ott Center and a 12:31.11 at Ocean Breeze in 2023.

Paul VI also placed 3rd in the 4-by-4 in 4:16.54 with Magee, freshman Jennifer Cosner,Blake and Gutowski. PVI placed 8th in team scoring with those two 3rd places for 12 points.

Maddie Dischert from Atlantic City runs giant PR and 5th-fastest 3,000 in Rider history at the Ott Center!!!!!!!!!!!!

Junior Maddie Dischert of Brigantine and Atlantic City High School ran the 5th-fastest 3,000 in Rider history over the weekend at the Ott Center.

Dischert ran 9:53.38 and placed 5th at the Penn Select Invitational. That’s a huge PR down from her 10:13.21 from January of 2024 at Ocean Breeze. Dischert did not compete outdoors this past spring, so this was her 1st race on the track since last February.

Her time is fastest in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference so far this season by more than 10 seconds.

Dischert came through 1,000 meters in 3:19.71, then ran her 2nd K in 3:15.02 and her final 1,000 in 3:18.66. She finished behind only four women from Penn.

Dischert did run XC in the fall and was Rider’s top finisher at the MAC Championships in Montgomery, N.Y., placing 14th in the conference meet.

Dischert had a 3,200 PR of 11:12.31 in high school from February 2023 at Ocean Breeze, which is the equivalent of a 10:26.19 for 3,000 meters. So she’s improved by the equivalent of about 33 seconds since she arrived in Lawrenceville.

Next for Rider is the NYC Gotham Cup Friday at Ocean Breeze.
