Led by Annabella Cassidy and Zion Ebisike, Winslow girls advance to states for 1st time in school history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Winslow Township girls program, which qualified for states for the first time ever!

Winslow placed 5th in the South Jersey Group 3 Sectionals at DREAM Park, earning an auto team qualifier into the state Group 3 meet at Holmdel County Park Saturday.

Winslow was led by junior Annabella Cassidy, who placed 8th in 19:13, equalling the best finish ever by a Winslow girl at sectionals and reording the fastest time ever by a Winslow girl on any 5,000-meter course.

Ava Millner was 8th in the 2023 South Jersey Group 3 race in 20:18. She ran 19:27 a year later, finishing 13th. That appears to be the fastest previous time by a Winslow girl on any 5,000-meter course.

Freshman Zion Ebisike was 22nd in 20:05, junior Amariah Arango 42nd in 21:22, sophomore Alonna Timmons 45th in 21:30 and junior Guilanni Marshall 63rd in 22:45. Junior Adaiah Arango and junior Julisa Derry also ran for Winslow, placing 67th in 23:03 and 78th in 23:42.

Winslow finished with 176 points, five fewer than Triton for the final auto team qualifying spot.

Winslow just missed qualifying last year, finishing 6th in SJ-3, 23 points behind the 5th and final qualifying spot.

Terrific range for Amariah and Adaiah Arango, who are both big parts of the Winslow track team as middle-distance runners. Amariah has run 55.90 and 2:13.32, and Adaiah has run 57.75.
