Kingsway’s Aubrey Scheeper won the freshman race Saturday at the South Jersey Shootout.
Scheeper ran 16:23 over 4,000 meters at at DREAM Park in Logan Township, winning by about 85 meters over Savannah Vai of Gloucester Tech, who was 2nd in 16:44.
Other South Jersey runners in the top 10: Pennsville’s Peyton Michel [5th in 16:55], Camden Catholic’s Burke Beyer [6th in 17:03], Atlantic Tech’s Shalon Ricks-Martin [7th in 17:08], Alexia and Avril Sandoval of Highland [8th and 9th in 17:22 and 17:27] and Williamstown’s Sophia Burgo [10th in 17:31].
Gloucester County Tech won the team title with 15 points as the only school entered that had five finishers.
