Paul VI’s Aliya Garozzo advances to 400-meter hurdles final at U.S. Championships!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aliya Garozzo from Sicklerville and Paul VI advanced to the 400-meter hurdles final Saturday at the U.S. Championships at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.

Garozzo ran 55.47 in the first of two semifinals, the 8th-fastest qualifying time. That’s her 3rd-fastest time ever and about half a second off her PR of 54.90, which she ran in Des Moines, Iowa, in April.

Garozzo will race in the final at 5:11 p.m. on Sunday.

Pennsville’s Arianna Smith [57.38] and Eastern’s Natalie Dumas [58.58] did not advance.
