In one of the most remarkable performances in New Jersey track history, Winslow’s Jasmine Jackson equalled the 7th-fastest time in U.S. history and destroyed the state record in the 100-meter high hurdles.

Jackson won West Philly Nationals in an otherworldly 13.03, dropping her PR from 12.24 in the trials on Saturday.

In the fastest hurdles race in high school track history, She broke the state record of 13.18 set last year at the Meet of Champions in Pennsauken by Taylor Cox and ran within 2-100ths of the national sophomore record of 13.01 set by Tia Jones of Walton High in Marietta, Ga., at the 2016 U.S. Junior National Championships in Clovis, Calif.

Her time is 12th-fastest in U.S. history by 8th-fastest with legal wind. The race was run with a 0.7 tailwind.

Jackson’s time is 35th-fastest by an American woman this year. It’s 5th-fastest on the world Under-20 list and fastest on the world Under-18 list. It’s No. 11 on the all-time world Under-18 list.

Jackson edged Kassidy Hopkins of Bullis School in Potomac, Md., by 2-100ths of a second. Hopkins was 2nd in 13.06, the 9th-fastest wind-legal time in U.S. history.

Both ran under the meet record of 13.18 set by Hopkins in the semifinals on Saturday.

Only four New Jersey women have ever run faster than Jackson: 2019 World Champion Nia Ali [12.30], four-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin [12.65], Neptune’s Dawn Bowles [12.74] and Taylor Cox [12.81].

Atlantic County Tech junior Brianna Growalt closed out her remarkable season by placing 7th in 13.78.
