Princeton freshman Anthony Liakhnovich from Hammonton joined the South Jersey 60-foot club Wednesday with a big PR shot put throw at the NCAA East Prelims in Lexington, Ky.
Liakhnovich increaed his PR with the 16-pound ball from 58-5 ¾ from last week at the Ivy League Championships in Princeton to 60-3 ¾.
He was the 3rd freshman in the competition and missed advancing to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., by just 13 ½ inches.
The top 12 adance to nationals at Hayward Field. Liakhnovich finished 16th.
Liakhnovich’s 60-3 ¾ ranks 9th in Princeton history but only four inches out of 6th.
Liakhnovich actually PR’d on his first throw with a 59-10 ¼ before his second PR of 60-3 ¾. He fouled on his 3rd and final throw.
