While teammate Sianni Wynn was setting more records, Pennsauken senior Sanaya Dupree put together a big breakthrough meet at the Camden County Showcase at Haddon Township with the 2nd-fastest time in the state this year in the 100 and 3rd-fastest in the 200.
Dupree placed 2nd to Wynn’’s season-best 11.37 in the 100 with a PR of 11.91 with a legal 0.7 wind.(and thank you, Camden County, for the wind gauge!) and she was 3rd in the 200 behind two multiple national champions, Wynn [PR 23.03] and Natalie Dumas [24.22], at 24.41 with a legal 0.6, and that’s No. 3 in the state this year.
Dupree’s previous PRs were 12.34 and 24.55, both from the BCSL meet at Willingboro. Her times are both No. 12 in Camden County history.
As for Wynn, just another monster performance. Her 11.37 isn’t far off her wind-legal PR of 11.29 from West Philly Nationals last June, and her 23.03 dropped 2-100ths of a second off her previous South Jersey record and is 3rd-fastest in state history outdoors, behind Sydney McLaughlin’s wind-aided 22.96 in 2017 and Wendy Vereen’s 22.99 in 1983. McLaughlin’s fastest confirmed wind-legal time in high school was a 23.53, so if we were posting a wind-legal list Wynn would be No. 2 behind Vereen, whose 22.99 at Villanova in 1983 was legal.
Wynn’s 23.03 is No. 4 nationally with legal wind according to the MileSplit database. Her 100 is No. 5.
On the World Athletics U.S. Under-20 lists, Wynn’s marks from Saturday haven’t been updated, but she should be No. 4 in both sprints.
