Winslow senior Quayd Hendryx ran the 8th-fastest wind-legal 200 in South Jersey history Saturday at the Camden County Championships at Haddon Township.
Hendryx ran 21.37, 2nd-fastest in New Jersey this year and fastest by a South Jersey sprinter. Eastern senior Ashton Gage finished second with a 21.44, equalling his PR, which he ran in the Olympic Conference meet last month. That’s No. 9 in Camden County history and No. 3 in the state this year. The race was run with a legal 1.8 headwind, and thank you for having a functional wind gauge operating.
Hendryx’s previous PR was a 21.47 in last year’s Meet of Champions at Pennsauken as a Burlington Township junior. He’s Winslow’s fastest at 200 meters since Reuben McCoy ran 21.14 at the 2004 state meet at Egg Harbor.
