After shattering South Jersey records in the 400- and 800-meter relays, Sianni Wynn and the Pennsauken girls ran the 6th-fastest 4-by-4 in South Jersey history Saturday at the Woodbury Relays.
How about 45.93, 1:36.63 and 3:44.97?
Safe to call it the greatest day of sprinting in New Jersey girls track history. No other school has ever run as fast in the 4-by-1, 4-by-2 and 4-by-4 on the same day and only one other school – a catholic school based in Scotch Plains – has run that fast in school history.
Pennsauken finished the triple record-setting performance by winning the 1,600-meter relay with Summer Schaefer leading off in 57.38, Wynn splitting 53.45, then Olivia Dupree running 58.36 and Hope Edwards anchoring in 55.80.
They broke the Group 4 and overall meet record of 3:48.24 set by Columbia in 2013.
Pennsauken’s time is 16th-fastest in state history. Pennsauken is the 2nd school in state history to run as fast as 45.93, 1:36.63 and 3:44.97 at any point in school history and the first to do it in the same meet.
