Haddonfield juniors Luke Andresen, junior Benjamin Andrus and junior Peter Simpson and senior Bennett Wright earned All-America honors Saturday with a 3rd-place in the 4-by-mile relay at Armory Nationals in New York.

The Haddonfield quartet ran 17:28.49 and placed 3rd behind Belen Jesuit of Tamiami, Fla. [17:06.50] and Coeur d’Alene [Idaho], who was 2nd in 17:10.47.

Andresen ran 4:22.68, Andrus 4:22.10, Simpson 4:19.47 and Wright 4:24.24 for the full mile for the 9th-fastest time in state history and 2nd-fastest in South Jersey history.

The only faster time in South Jersey – and Camden County history and school history – was Haddonfield’s 17:22.12 with Ben Potts, Colin Baker, Matt Nussbaum and Jonathan Vitez. That was also at the Armory at what was then known as the National Scholastic Championships.
