Moorestown senior Rece Englehart recorded one of the best horizontal jumps doubles in South Jersey history Thursday night.

Englehart won both the long jump and triple jump at the South Jersey Elite at Delsea with lifetime bests of 23-11 ½ and 47-3. That’s No. 12 in South Jersey history in the long jump and No. 17 in the triple jump.

He becomes only the third South Jersey jumper to jump 23-11 and 47-3. Eastern’s Mikhail Micheaux jumped 24-3 ¾ in 2013 and 47-7 ½ in 2014, and Pennsauken’s Antwan Dickerson jumped 23-6 and 47-3 ¾ in 2013.

Englehart destroyed his previous PRs of 22-7 ½ from indoor Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze in March and 45-3 ¼ from June 2022 at West Philly Nationals.

He broke a 47-year-old school record in the long jump. Tracey Hall jumped 23-3 ½ to win the South Jersey Group 4 sectionals. Englehart already held the school record in the triple jump.

His jumps are No. 3 in Burlington County history in the triple and No. 6 in the long jump.

Englehart opened with a 23-11 ½ in the long jump and added another 23-foot jump at 23-0 ½ before calling it a day to prepare for the triple. He won by nearly two feet over Riverside senior Jamir Brown, who jumped a PR 22-1 ¼ for second. In the triple, he had three jumps over 45 feet, with a 45-5 ¾ on his 1st attempt and the 47-3 on his 2nd. After two fouls, he finished with a 41-5 ½ and then a 46-5 ½ on his 6th jump.

Six other jumpers surpassed 44 feet. Glassboro senior Cartrell Moore was 2nd with a PR 46-9 on his final attempt, Williamstown senior Gordon Pinnock jumped a PR 45-6 ½ on his 2nd attempt, Moorestown junior Ezra Williams-Thomas hit a PR 45-3 ½ on his 1st jump, Salem junior Devi’Yonn Jackson jumped 44-7 ½ on his 3rd try, Williamstown senior Joseph Pierre-Jacques hit a PR 44-3 ½ on his 2nd jump and Rancocas Valley junior Adris Lewis popped a PR 44-3 ¼ on his first attempt.
