Haddonfield Stella Stolarick, Anna Stolarick, Ava Thomas and Riley Austin ran 9:16.28 and won the 3,200-meter relay Sunday morning at the Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze.
Haddonfield’s time is 4th-fastest in meet history – the 4-by-8 was added in 2017 – and 6th-fastest in South Jersey history. According to the MileSplit national database, it’s No. 14 in the U.S.
Haddonfield won by 40 meters over 2nd-place Eastern, which smashed its school record by 12 seconds with a 9:22.33, which is No. 7 in meet history and the fastest non-winning time ever. It’s No. 13 on the all-time South Jersey list and less than a second out of the top 10. Eastern’s previous school record was its 9:34.14 on the same track last month.
For Haddonfield, Stella Stolarick led off with a 2:20.63 split, Anna Stolarick ran 2:19.39, Thomas split 2:18.48 and Austin anchored in 2:17.80.
This was Haddonfield’s 3rd indoor Meet of Champions win since the inception of the girls meet in 1979. Olympian Erin Donohue won the 3,200 in 2001 in 10:38.90 and Briana Gess won the 1,600 in 2017 in 4:59.04.
Eastern’s Theresa Albertson, Samantha Osei-Kyei, Annelise Shack and sophomore Natalie Dumas broke the school record of 9:34.14 justa two weeks ago at Ocean Breeze. Albertson led off with a 2:24.43, Osei-Kyei split 2:14.61 – fastest of any team in the race – and Shack ran 2:26.87 to set up Dumas’s 2:16.44 anchor.
