Nester Wea, Kaila Speight, Maya Bolden lead Willingboro girls to Central Jersey Group 2 championship!!!!!!

Junior Nester Wea picked up two 1sts and a 2nd, ran on the winning relay team and led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 55, and the Willingboro girls won their 4th indoor sectional title Sunday at the Bubble.

Willingboro outscored Rumson-Fair Haven 78-61 to win the Central Jersey Group 1 championship. Boro won South Jersey Group 1 in 2010, South Jersey Group 3 in 2016 and Central Jersey Group 1 in 2020.

Wea won the hurdles in 8.62 and the 55 in 7.33 and ran 58.37 for 2nd in the 400. In the 55, freshman Maya Bolden placed 2nd with a PR 7.40 and sophomore Kaila Speight was 3rd in 7.46. Junior Sunny Oyibo was 4th in a PR 9.19. And in the 400, Speight ran 59.23 for 3rd.

That’s 52 points in the 55, hurdles and 400.

In the field, senior Naa’rah Andrews – Willingboro’s only senior point scorer – placed 2nd in the high jump with a 5-0 clearance, and junior Channel Swain took 2nd in the shot put with a 38-4 throw.
