Rancocas Valley’s Kevin Burr Jr. finishes miracle season with 4th place finish & All-America honors at West Philly Nationals in javelin!!!!!!!!

Just 2 ½ months after first he first picked up a javelin, Kevin Burr Jr. can call himself an All-America.

Burr Jr., a Rancocas Valley senior and 1st-year javelin thrower, placed 4th at West Philly Nationals Sunday at Franklin Field, earning All-America honors to cap a remarkable year.

Burr Jr. had four throws over 190 feet, including a 194-3 on his 4th attempt. He was the top New Jersey finisher, finishing ahead of Mahwah’s George Kalkanis, who edged him Thursday in the Meet of Champions with both throwing over 200 feet.

Burr Jr. had a PR of 141-9 five weeks ago but surpassed 190 feet in each of his last four meets, including sectional and state Group 4 titles and his PR 204-4 at the Meet of Champions – No. 7 in South Jersey history and No. 14 in state history.

Burr finished behind only Peter Bellomo of Jersey Shore (Pa.) Area High [208-8], Leikel H. Cabrera who doesn’t appear on any 2023 javelin lists and has no apparent affiliation and may not actually exist [200-11] and Aidan Broussard of Niceville High (Fla.) [198-4]

He does actually exist, in fact he just won the AAU junior Olympics with a PR 229-8. He also signed signed with Umpqua Community College a school known for its outstanding javelin program.

I’m sorry, I don’t really understand your message. Are you saying Burr threw 229-8 recently? Are there official results anywhere? And I was under the impression he was headed to Tennessee? Is he no longer going there? Thanks.
