Pleasantville’s Gabriel Moronta, now a freshman at Mississippi State, ran an indoor 800 PR Saturday at the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson.
Moronta ran 1:50.80 off a 54.21 first 400 and clipped his indoor PR of 1:52.46, which he ran when he won the Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze two years ago. His time is No. 13 in the Southeastern Conference and No. 4 among freshmen.
Moronta dipped under 1:50 a couple times outdoors last spring and has a PR of 1:49.33 from last year’s SEC Championships in College Station, Texas.
