West Deptford graduate Annette Wanjiku, a junior at The College of New Jersey, ran a personal-best in the 100-meter hurdles Thursday in Rochester.
Wanjiku ran 14.88 in the trials of the All-Atlantic Region Championships at St. John Fisher College with a legal 0.5 wind. She didn’t race in the final.
Her time is No. 37 in the country in NCAA Division 3.
Wanjiku had a previous PR of 14.89 from the TCNJ Last Chance Meet earlier this month, but that was aided by a 2.2 meters-per-second wind. Her previous wind-legal PR was 15.02 from the NJAC Championships at Ramapo, also earlier this month. She placed second in the final to Rowan’s Nicole Notaranni, who ran 14.66.
At West Deptford, Wanjiku was a medalist at the 2017 Group 2 states at Northern Burlington.
