Sincere Rhea ran a lifetime-best 13.89 Saturday in the 110-meter hurdles trials at the Big Ten Championships.
Rhea, a Penn State freshman from St. Augustine, placed second in the third of three heats at Demirjian Park in Champaign, Ill., to qualify for Sunday’s final. The winner of each heat plus the next-six fastest times advanced.
Rhea’s previous PR over the 42-inch barriers was 13.92 last month in a meet in Iowa City.
Rhea, the Big Ten indoor champion, https://sjtrackblog.com/2021/02/27/watch-this-video-of-the-closest-race-youll-ever-see-sincere-rheas-big-ten-hurdles-title/, moved up to No. 6 in Penn State history with the fastest time by a Nittany Lions hurdler in six years.
