Cherokee graduate Abby Gilmore earned All-America honors Friday when she ran a leg on Olivet Nazarene’s 6th-place 3,200-meter relay team at the NAIA Indoor Nationals.
Gilmore ran a personal-best 2:21 split and Olivet Nazarene University of Bourbonnais, Ill., ran 9:32.45 at the Ruth Donohue First Dakota Fieldhouse on the campus of Mount Marty University in Yankton, S.D.
Gilmore ran the third leg. The Tigers ran 9:35.64 Wednesday, the 7th-fastest time in the trials, to qualify for the final. This is the third time the Tigers have earned indoor All-America honors in the 4-by-8. They placed 6th in 2014 and 7th in 2016.
