Keven Kevelier unleashed the No. 10 indoor triple jump in South Jersey history Saturday, and he did it in his first career indoor triple jump competition.
Kevelier, a Collingswood senior, has competed in indoor track in the past but only in the high jump and occasionally as a sprinter.
Kevelier jumped 44-11 to win the triple jump at Ocean Breeze Freedom Games in Staten Island, N.Y.
Amuchin Timbo of Bishop Hendricken in Warwick, R.I., placed second with a 44-7 1/2 jump.
Outdoors, Kevelier jumped 47-5 1/4 last year and placed fifth at the Meet of Champs.
