Susann Foley, a Seneca graduate now at Stockton, set a high jump PR of 5-5 Saturday when she won the high jump at the Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals season-opener.
Foley entered the competition at 4-11 and cleared on her first attempt. She cleared 5-1 on her second try and 5-3 on her third before getting over the bar on her third and final attempt at 5-5. She missed three attempts at 5-6.
Stockton’s web site lists the indoor school record as 5-6 in 2008 by Lisa Shepherd, an Oakcrest graduate. But
But the results of the 2008 NCAA indoor championships at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, list Shepherd as clearing 5-6 1/2 and placing second, so we’ll go with 5-6 1/2 as the school record.
At Seneca, Foley had PRs of 5-2 both indoors and outdoors. She was the Burlington County Open champ as a junior in the spring of 2017 and also won the South Jersey Group 1 sectional title indoors.
Foley spent last year at Ithaca, where she cleared 5-3 3/4 indoors and 5-3 outdoors.
