Mainland’s Kevin Antczak continue historic season, runs 15:34 at Nike Cross Nationals

Mainland senior Kevin Antczak put together another tremendous race Saturday, placing 24th out of more than 200 of the top XC runners in the country in the Nike Cross Nationals.

Antczak, who qualified as an at-large runner based on his performance at Foot Locker Regionals, ran 15:34.8 on the 5,000-meter course at Glendoveer Country Club in Portland, Ore.

All four New Jersey entrants ran 15:46 or faster, which is remarkable. Liam Murphy of Allentown was 8th in 15:12, Jackson Braddock of Southern Regional was 29th in 15:37 and Jack Jennings of Mendham placed 44th in 15:46.

Antczak’s time is 4th-fastest ever by a New Jersey runner since NXN moved from Portland Meadows in 2015. He moved ahead of Aaron Groff of Cherry Hill East as the fastest South Jersey runner ever at Glendoveer:

Murphy and Antczak went 1-2 at the Meet of Champions. Murphy, Antczak and Jennings went 3-4-5 at Foot Locker Northeast.

Antczak, Murphy and Jennings will all race at Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego on Saturday.
