Add Mainland Regional to a remarkable list of New Jersey high schools that have now produced Foot Locker finalists in both the girls and boys races.
When Kevin Antczak placed 4th at Foot Locker Northeast Regionals Saturday at VanCortlandt Park in the Bronx, he joined Mainland’s Alyssa Aldridge as Foot Locker finalists representing the Mustangs of Lindwood, Atlantic County.
Aldridge, a top-20 placer at NCAA Regionals this fall as a Georgetown sophomore, was a two-time Foot Locker finalist, placing 23rd in 2015 and 13th in 2016.
Mainland is only the 11th New Jersey school to qualify both a boy and a girl for Foot Locker Nationals. Six of those 10 are from South Jersey.
Antczak will race at Foot Locker Nationals a week from Saturday at Balboa Park in San Diego.
