Andre Turay of Bullis School in Potomac, Md., and Sincere Rhea of St. Augustine in Richland, two of the top hurdlers in the country, squared off Saturday in Maryland, and the duo produced two of the fastest times in the country.
The two crossed the finish line almost simultaneously, but when the official results were announced Turay, third at outdoor nationals last spring, had finished 1-100th of a second ahead of Rhea.
Turay ran 13.80 and Rhea 13.81, the No. 4 and No. 5 times in the U.S. this year according to the MileSplit USA rankings.
Turay has a PR of 13.73 from the prelims of New Balance nationals last year. Rhea has a PR of 13.74 from last year’s Meet of Champions.
