Riddell repeats, leads Haddonfield boys to record-setting 15th straight sectional XC title!!!!!

Junior Martin Riddell won his second straight individual title and led five Haddonfield runners in the top seven, and Haddonfield won its 15th consecutive sectional XC title and state-record 36th title overall Saturday, outscoring second-place Delsea 20-86 on Delsea’s flat 5,000-meter course in Franklinville.

The title is Haddonfield’s 24th in the last 25 years. It’s the 37th consecutive year Haddonfield has placed in the top three.

Riddell ran 15:54 to edge Delsea senior Colin Kane, who was second in 15:58. Haddonfield took the next three spots, with seniors Greg Eisenhower (16:00) Derek Gess (16:13) and Griffin Weiner (16:21), and junior Stephen Kasko placed seventh in 16:35.

That’s a 41-second pack for the Bulldogs’ five scorers. Senior Sean Campiglia (11th in 16:47) and senior Ethan Spellmeyer (16th in 17;13) gave Haddonfield seven runner in the top 16.

Scoring against the entire field, Haddonfield would have won 20-36. Scoring without its first two runners, Haddonfield would have won 27-77.
