Bishop Eustace junior Katy Storti placed third in the Parochial A XC championships Saturday at Holmdel, earning a lane in the Meet of Champions next Saturday.
Storti ran a Holmdel PR of 19:28, finishing behind only Pingry soph Nicole Vanesse, who ran 18:45, and Union Catholic junior Jerika Lufrano, who ran 18:51.
Storti’s third-place finish is best by a Bishop Eustace girl since Holly Bishof won the 2011 race in 18:45.
Eustace sophomore Rachel Orr also broke into the top-15, placing 13th overall in 20:26.
This will be Storti’s second trip to the Meet of Champions. She placed fourth at states as a freshman in 20:00 and went on to take 40th place at the 2015 Meet of Champions in 19:41.
Camden Catholic’s Richie Castaneda placed 6th in Parochial A with 16:29, which is a PR by 29 seconds. Camden Catholic placed 4th in Parochial A and missed MOC by 19 points. The team has no seniors on it. Camden Catholic outscored all SJ teams except Kingsway, Cherokee, Haddonfield and Mainland.

Camden Catholic Was also “Undermanned” as one of their best XC runners, Denny Kelly, was out all year with an injury.
