Hunter bombs her way into #5 spot in S.J. shot put history!!!!!

Ronetta Hunter’s PR lasted exactly eight days.

Hunter, a senior at Burlington Township, threw 44-2 for seventh place in the shot put at the 121st annual Penn Relays at Franklin Field a week ago Thursday. That was a little over four inches beyond her previous PR of 43-10 3/4, from when she was fourth at the indoor Meet of Champions in Toms River this winter.

So much for 44-2 as a PR.

Hunter bombed a 44-11 1/2 to win the shot at the Rowan Invitational in Glassboro Friday night, a PR by 9 1/2 inches and the No. 5 mark in South Jersey history.

Hunter opened her four-throw series with a 40-7 3/4 and then followed with her 44-11 1/2, a 42-1 and then a foul. She averaged 42-6 3/4 on her three legal throws.

Two Vineland girls finished second and third – Danea Wint at 39-1 1/4 and Cameron Daniels at 38-10 1/2.
