Ocean City’s Elaina Styer smashes Stockton school record in 60-meter hurdles!!!!!!!!!

Ocean City’s Elaina Styer smashed her own Stockton University school record in the 60-meter hurdles Friday at Ocean Breeze.

After a near-PR 9.05 in the trials, Styer placed 2nd in the final of the Gotham Cup in 8.93, breaking her school record of 9.03 that she set at a meet in March at Tufts University in Medford, Mass., and then matched at Ocean Breeze last month.

Her time is tied for 10th-fastest on the 2026 NCAA Division 3 list with Rowan sophomore Nyla Jones from Timber Creek, who ran 8.93 last month on the same track.

Styer, from Estell Manor, has high jumped 5-5 ½ an long jumped 18-0 ½ so far this season. She’s not far off school records in both events – 5-6 by Lisa Sheperd of Oakcrest in 2008 and 18-4 ¼ by Jassina Surles from Williamstown in 2016.

In indoor opener, Julia Flanagan smashes Holy Cross mile record, moves into all-time Burlington County top-10!!!!!!

Julia Flanagan ran the fastest mile in Holy Cross history indoors or out Wednesday at the Ott Center.

Flanagan placed 2nd in the Upper Dublin Winter Series in 5:02.25 for a full mile, which converts to 5:00.50 for 1,600 meters.

That breaks the overall Holy Cross record of 5:00.85 set by Kari Vigerstol when she won the 1993 outdoor Meet of Champions at South Plainfield.

It’s No. 10 in Burlington County history indoors and No. 22 on the all-time South Jersey list.

Flanagan finished behind only sophomore Julia Kelly of Downingtown West, who ran 5:00.66. Flanagan negatived 2:32.46 and 2:29.82, closing in 36.34 for her final 200.

This was Flanagan’s first race since the XC Meet of Champions, where she placed 10th after winning the state Parochial B title.

Audubon girls win sprint medley on way to strong 2nd-place finish in Group 1 State Relays at the Bubble!!!!!!!!!!!!

Audubon won the sprint medley with senior Alaina Copsetta, junior Kathryn McGuire, junior Sophia Rizzo and senior Riley Fayer and scored a whopping 48 points – enough to win the meet most years – for 2nd place at the Group 1 state relays Thursday at the Bubble.

Ramsey finished with a 60-48 margin of victory, with Glassboro 3rd with 23 points.

Audubon’s sprint medley team ran 4:19.43 for the win, and Audubon also picked up 2nd-places in the DMR, 800-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay and pole vault relay.

In the DMR, junior Lydia Gravante, sophomore Keira Baumann, junior Isabella Legatie and Fayer ran 12:58.66, and McGuire, Rizzo, senior Kylie Tocco and Copsetta ran 1:51.34 in the 800-meter relay. Rizzo, Baumann, Fayer and Copetta ran 4:20.80 in the 4-by-4, and seniors Morganna Makuszewski [8-0] and Marissa DeValerio [6-0] teamed up for 2nd in the vault.

Audubon also scored in the 3,200-meter relay, with Legatie, Madison Phillippi, freshman Emma Camm and Gravante running 10:19.74 for 3rd.

Glassboro picked up two wins in the field, with senior Sunsairai Moore [36-8 ¾] and junior Virginia Tarasevitch [31-6] winning the shot put relay and junior Elizabeth Mann [8-6] and Moore [7-6] 1st in the pole vault relay.

In the sprint medley, West Deptford freshman Devyn Hightower, sophomore Melena Moore, freshman Aurora Morina and senior Kayla Romanoski ran 4:21.41 for 2nd place.

Pennsville placed 2nd in the high jump relay behind seniors Kallie Morrison [5-0] and Molly Gratz [4-6].

Lower Cape May picked up 3rd in that pole vault competition, with junior Katarina Ojasoo [7-6] and senior Katrina Sharp [6-0], and Penns Grove was 3rd in the shot put with junior Zoey Ceasar [31-1 ½] and senior Jarlene Vichi [29-8 ¾].

WITH FINAL-EVENT HEROICS, WOODSTOWN BOYS WIN THEIR FIRST STATE RELAYS CHAMPIONSHIP IN DRAMATIC FASHION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trailing by six points going into the final event of the meet, Woodstown picked up a 4-by-4 win to clinch its first Group 1 state relays title at the Bubble.

Woodstown is the first Salem County school in 40 years to win a state relays title. Penns Grove won Group 1 in 1986.

Senior Josh Crawford was a triple winner for the Wolverines.

Defending-champion Glassboro led Woodstown and Glen Rock 34-28 going into the 1,600-meter relay, but Woodstown ran 3:32.59 with junior Kyle Reitz, senior Karson Chew, senior Anthony Costello and Crawford to win the race and pick up 10 points for a total of 38, Glen Rock placed 5th to finish with 30 and Glassboro placed 6th for one point and a final total of 32 for 2nd place.

Glassboro opened with a fast win in the distance medley, with senior Jaeden Wesley, sophomore Zacchaeus Harrigan, sophomore Aaron Johnson and sophomore Joseph Saicic running 10:43.76 and holding off 2nd-place Woodstown, which ran 10:45.69 with Jacob Marino, David Farrell, Crawford and Chew.

Those times are both school records and No. 6 and 8 in New Jersey this year and the two-fastest by South Jersey schools.

Woodstown turned the tables on Glassboro in the 4-by-800, with Chew, Marino, Farrell and Crawford running 8:09.20 and Glassboro 2nd in 8:20.74 with Saicic, Harrigan, Johnson and senior Jason Martin. Woodstown, which is No. 1 in New Jersey with its 8:00.24 at the Millrose Trials, just missed the Group 1 meet record of 8:06.41 set by Pleasantville in 2013.

Woodstown also won the sprint medley with Reitz, Costello, senior Benjamin Lippincott and Crawford running 3:38.84. Audubon was 2nd in 3:45.58 with senior Dylan Gallagher, junior Evan Calhoun, senior Aaron Pilla and senior Zachary Fayer, and Glassboro picked up six points in 3rd with sophomore Moses Robles, Johnson, Saicic and junior Joseph Delecce.

Glassboro also picked up 10 points in the high jump, where Robles and Miles Taylor picked up the win, Robles clearing 6-0 and Taylor 5-6.

Also, Haddon Township ran 11:04.84 for 3rd in the DMR, with seniors Shaun Maloney, Jack McGarrigel, Luke Wolfram and James Clauson and 8:40.79 for 3rd in the 4×8 with sophomore James Strimel, Wolfram, Clauson and Maloney.

Paul VI girls run 6th-fastest DMR in New Jersey this year at state relays!!!!!!

Paul VI senior Claire Magee, junior Grace Gutowski, senior Macy Huber and sophomore Peyton Blake placed 3rd in the distance medley Wednesday at the state relays.

Splits not available because it’s an NJSIAA meet and they can’t be bothered by things like relay splits, but PVI ran 12:33.40 and finished behind Oak Knoll School of Summit [12:21.25] and Scotch Plains all-star program [12:27.46].

PVI’s time is 3rd-fastest in South Jersey this year, behind Ocean City [12:24.53] and Cherokee [12:25.94], both from last week at the Ott Center. It’s No. 6 in New Jersey this year.

The performance is No. 3 all-time indoors by PVI behind last year’s 12:19.62 at the Ott Center and a 12:31.11 at Ocean Breeze in 2023.

Paul VI also placed 3rd in the 4-by-4 in 4:16.54 with Magee, freshman Jennifer Cosner,Blake and Gutowski. PVI placed 8th in team scoring with those two 3rd places for 12 points.

Maddie Dischert from Atlantic City runs giant PR and 5th-fastest 3,000 in Rider history at the Ott Center!!!!!!!!!!!!

Junior Maddie Dischert of Brigantine and Atlantic City High School ran the 5th-fastest 3,000 in Rider history over the weekend at the Ott Center.

Dischert ran 9:53.38 and placed 5th at the Penn Select Invitational. That’s a huge PR down from her 10:13.21 from January of 2024 at Ocean Breeze. Dischert did not compete outdoors this past spring, so this was her 1st race on the track since last February.

Her time is fastest in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference so far this season by more than 10 seconds.

Dischert came through 1,000 meters in 3:19.71, then ran her 2nd K in 3:15.02 and her final 1,000 in 3:18.66. She finished behind only four women from Penn.

Dischert did run XC in the fall and was Rider’s top finisher at the MAC Championships in Montgomery, N.Y., placing 14th in the conference meet.

Dischert had a 3,200 PR of 11:12.31 in high school from February 2023 at Ocean Breeze, which is the equivalent of a 10:26.19 for 3,000 meters. So she’s improved by the equivalent of about 33 seconds since she arrived in Lawrenceville.

Next for Rider is the NYC Gotham Cup Friday at Ocean Breeze.

Pemberton’s Jaden Goins races to 8th-fastest 55 time in Burlington County history!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pemberton senior Jaden Goins ran the 8th-fastest 55 in Burlington County history Sunday at the Stanner Games at the Armory.

Goins had a dash PR of 6.83 coming into the indoor season from last January at the Armory. He dropped to 6.54 at the Armory in his 2026 debut in December before running 6.45 to win the 55 Sunday.

Goins outraced Jalen Josey of Holy Trinity in Hicksville, N.Y., who was 2nd in 6.50, and Maximillian Wickrath of Minisink Valley in Slate Hill, N.Y., who ran 6.51.

The fastest previous time I could find for a Pemberton sprinter was 6.64 by Quincey Lambert at the 2013 South Jersey Group 2 meet at the Bubble.

His time is No. 22 in South Jersey history but only 5-100ths outside the all-time top-10, which goes down to 6.40.

Goins’ is 2nd-fastest in New Jersey this year, behind only 2025 Meet of Champion 100 winner Jevon Ledgister of St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, who ran a U.S. No. 4 6.31 last month at Ocean Breeze.

The most notable Pemberton sprinter is Bobby Orro, who won the Meet of Champions 100 in 1993 in 10.66. But Orro never competed indoors. Orro went on to play football and run track at Rutgers. Orro ran 6.85 and placed 3rd at the 1999 IC4A in Boston, still 10th-fastest in Rutgers history.

Goins placed 5th in the 100 at the state Group 2 meet in South Plainfield last spring and had a wind-legal best of 11.06 at S.J. Group 2 sectionals at Delsea.

Lenape’s Dev’yne Smith pops #4 triple jump in Burlington County history at the Bubble!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lenape senior Dev’yne Smith popped the No. 4 indoor triple jump in Burlington County history Saturday at the Bubble, missing the county record by 3 ¼ inches.

Smith jumped 45-0 ¼ and placed 2nd to Elizabeth senior Jaydan Cadet, who jumped 45-9 ¾. Smith is now No. 2 in South Jersey this year behind Glassboro sophomore Moses Robles, who jumped 46-4 ½ at the Ott last month. His jump places him No. 20 on the all-time South Jersey indoor list.

Smith came into the indoor season with PRs of 42-5 ½ outdoors and 42-2 ¼ indoors. He improved his PR to 42-9 at the Ott Center in December and then 43-1 ¾ at the Ott last week before his breakthrough on his 3rd and final jump Saturday.

Ocean City junior Carly Godfrey broke the 12-year-old Cape May County indoor 800 record with the 10th-fastest time in South Jersey history Monday at Ocean Breeze.

Godfrey won the 800 in 2:14.13 with perfectly even splits of 67.06 and 67.07, breaking the Cape May and school record of 2:14.64 set in by Bridget Flynn at 2014 Armory Nationals.

Her time is 4th-fastest in New Jersey this year behind Eastern’s Natalie Dumas and two runners from a Scotch Plains-based all-star team. It’s No. 15 nationally on the MileSplit U.S. performance list.

Godfrey ran 2:11.25 this past June at the state Group 3 meet in Somerset, 15th-fastest in South Jersey history.

Also in that 800 Monday at Ocean Breeze, West Deptford senior Kayla Romanoski ran an indoor PR 2:18.48 for 3rd place. Her previous indoor best was 2:19.57 in January 2024, also at Ocean Breeze. Riverside’s Sydney Greenidge runs 4th-fastest 60 in Vermont history in 2nd college meet!!!!!!!!!

Riverside grad Sydney Greenidge ran the 4th-fastest 60-meter dash in Vermont history Saturday in her 2nd collegiate meet.

Greenidge, a Vermont freshman, ran 7.80 in the 60 trials at the Ivy vs. America East Challenge at Dartmouth’s Leverone Fieldhouse in Hanover, N.H. Greenidge ran 7.84 and placed 2nd in the final, behind Brown’s Alyssa Jackson, who ran 7.71.

Greenidge’s 7.80 is fastest by a Vermont woman in 17 years, since Jan Carlson set the school record of 7.63. Tied for No. 4 on that list is Willingboro grad Chanel Hamilton, who ran 7.82 in 2008.

Greenidge, the state Group 1 champ last spring with a 12.31 in Somerset, never ran a 60 in high school. Her 55 PR of 7.62 at Ursinus last January converts to 8.31 for 60 meters.

In her first college meet, Greenidge ran 7.93 in a meet in Boston. Greenidge also placed 3rd Saturday in the 200 with a 26.85, breaking her indoor PR of 27.65 also from Ursinus last year. That was her only high school indoor meet.
