In his first 400 since May, Pennsauken’s Premier Wynn – now a junior at Tennessee – ran 46.15 at the Pepsi Relays Saturday in Gainesville.

Because of an injury, Wynn hadn’t raced at all since an indoor 300 in Nashville in December, his only previous race for the Vols after transferring from Norfolk State after last year’s outdoor season.

But it was a successful return to action for Wynn, who ran within 15-100ths of a second of his PR of 46.00 from the prelims of the MEAC Championships in May in Norfolk. That’s 6th-fastest ever by a South Jersey quarter-miler. Wynn won the final in 46.53 and that was his final race as a Spartan.

Wynn’s 46.15 is 10th-fastest in the SEC so far this year and 20th-fastest in NCAA Division 1, which tells you how competitive the SEC is.

Ajani Dwyer became New Jersey’s fastest sprinter in nearly 30 years Saturday when he won the 100-meter dash at the Pepsi Relays in a wind-legal 10.06.

Dwyer, a 2024 Washington Township graduate and Penn State sophomore, ran the fastest 100 by a South Jersey sprinter since Edgewood’s Dennis Mitchell ran 10.02 at the Stockholm DN Galan at Olympiastadion in Sweden on July 7, 1997.

Olympic gold medalists Carl Lewis and Mitchell are the only South Jersey sprinters to ever run faster than Dwyer did Saturday in Gainesville on Mitchell’s old college track.

Dwyer lowered his legal PR from 10.16, which he ran at Heyward Field this past May. He ran a slightly wind-aided 9.96 with a 2.2 meters-per-second tailwind in Orlando last weekend. The wind reading for this race was 0.2.

His time is 4^th-fastest in the world this year with legal wind and fastest by an American. He broke the Penn State wind-legal school record of 10.15 set at 2024 NCAA East Prelims in Leington Kentucky by Olympian and Ramapo transfer Cheickna Traore, who attended Innovation High in Jersey City and competed for Snyder.

Dwyer is now tied for the collegiate lead in wind-legal races with LSU junior Jaiden Reid, who ran 10.06 in Baton Rouge on Friday.

Rowan sophomore Seth Clevenger from Haddonfield 15^th-fastest 10,000 in NCAA Division 3 history Saturday at the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton.

Racing solo start to finish, Clevenger won the race in 29:06.90, lapping the field and finishing about 700 meters ahead of 2^nd-place Joshua Tejada of Monmouth University and Teaneck High.

His time is fastest ever by a South Jersey high school alum, breaking the record of 29:16.01 set at Bucknell in 2013 by Camden Catholic’s Kevin O’Donnell.

Clevenger broke the school record of 30:17.4 by over a minute. That was 30:17.4 set by Cherry Hill East’s Jack Kruse at the 1980 NCAA Division 3 Championships in Naperville, Ill.

Indoors, Clevenger ran the 4^th-fastest mile in Division 3 history [3:59.41], 3^rd-fastest 3,000 [7:54.87] and fastest 5,000 [13:32.09].

Clevenger had never run a 10,000 before.

That 29:06.90 is 24^th-fastest this year among U.S. men and 16^th-fastest among U.S. collegians in all divisions.

After running the 4^th-fastest 400-meter relay in Gloucester County history earlier in the day, Deptford continued its hot racing on its home track with the 2^nd-fastest time in county history in the 800-meter relay.

Senior Damon Morton, senior Kareem Brown, junior Xavion Holmes and senior Johann Hernandez ran on the 4-by-1 team, and in the final it was the same quartet but in a different order – Hernandez to Holmes to Morton to Brown.

That’s 11^th-fastest in South Jersey history and 2^nd in Gloucester County history only behind Delsea’s 1:27.19 in East Brunswick in May of 2024.

It was a fast, deep race, with three schools under 1:29. Winslow ran 1:28.82 with junior Jaylen Moss, senior Prince Owusu-Twum, senior Jacoby James and senior KaRon Ali, and Eastern ran 1:28.84 with a listed lineup of sophomore Paul Moore, senior Vinny Rosa, junior Keshawn Townsend and senior Ashton Gage.

Note that this timing company only lists last names in the entries and results, so if a high school has two kids on the track team with the same last name – as Eastern does with the Moores – there’s literally no way to tell who ran. But we’re guessing here it was Paul Moore. Correct us if we’re wrong. And, hey, “Pioneer Timing,” maybe type in some first names so we know who actually raced!).

Rowan ran the 3^rd-fastest 400-meter relay in NCAA Division 3 this year Saturday in Daytona Beach.

Senior Masai Byrd from Rancocas Valley, sophomore Julian Conigliaro from Delsea, sophomore Madaijoudou Diawara from Toms River North and senior Evan Corcoran from Kingsway ran 40.93, winning the race at the Embry Riddle Invitational.

The only faster times this year have been recorded by Centenary of Shreveport, La., who ran 40.45 in Jackson, Miss., last month, and Texas Lutheran of Seguin, Texas, who ran 40.74 in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday.

Rowan ran the 3^rd-fastest time in Division 3 history last year at NCAA Division 3 Nationals in Geneva, Ohio, with a 39.72, with Corcoran also in the lineup. They’ve also run 39.97 [last year in D-3 trials], 40.03 [Widener last-chance meet last May], 40.14 [2023 Nationals in Rochester], 40.27 [last April in Atlanta], 40.36 [2023 at NCAA trials], 40.37 [in 2023 in Selinsgrove, Pa.] and 40.43 [2002 NCAAs in St. Paul, Minn.] and most likely some other sub-41 times.

The Winslow girls ran the 12^th-fastest time shuttle hurdles time in state history Saturday at the Deptford Spartan Relays.

Sophomore Jasmine Jackson, senior Ma’Syiah Brawner, junior Cinniya Robinson and junior Justice Green ran 59.60, winning by nearly 10 seconds.

That’s No. 4 in South Jersey history, behind Edgewood’s 1999 then-state record, Willingboro’s 59.25 last year at West Philly Nationals and Eastern’s 59.52 at the 2019 Don Danser Relays.

Unless you consider Edgewood’s 59.00 at the 1999 East Coast Relays as the school record, Winslow broke the school record of 1:00.18 that they ran at the 2014 Willingboro Relays.

The Deptford boys sped to the 4^th-fastest 400-meter relay time in Glouceseter County history Saturday morning on their home track at the Spartan Relays.

Senior Damon Morton, senior Kareem Brown, junior Xavion Holmes and senior Johann Hernandez ran 41.93 and ran away from the field, finishing more than a second ahead of 2^nd-place Winslow, which ran 43.09.

The time is 24^th on the all-time South Jersey list. The only Gloucester County schools to run faster are Washington Township in 2024 and Deptford in 2017 and 2018.

Ocean City’s Elaina Styer, national runner-up in the pentathlon at indoor NCAA Division 3 Championships, smashed the Stockton school record in the 100-meter hurdles Saturday at the Osprey Invite in Galloway Township.

Styer, a Stockton sophomore, won the hurdles in 14.50, breaking the record of 14.54 set by Jassina Surles of Williamstown in the trials of the 2016 ECAC Division 3 Championships in Westfield, Mass.

Styer’s time is No. 6 in NCAA Division 3 so far this year. The race was run into a 0.8 meters-per-second headwind.

Styer’s previous PR was 15.41 at a meet last April at Widener in Chester, Pa. Her best time in high school was 16.25 as part of the pentathlon at 2023 West Philly Nationals.

Styer also won the long jump with a PR 18-5 3/4 on her only legal jump. Her previous PR was 18-0 1/2 indoors at Ocean Breeze this past December.  That’s No. 6 in NCAA Division 3 so far this year.

The Williamstown girls ran a DMR school record and the 6^th-fastest time in Gloucester County history Saturday at the Deptford Spartan Relays.

Junior Julia Burgio, junior Chanelle Briscoe, junior Tristan Hughes and senior Sophia Aldridge ran 12:37.62, breaking the school record of 12:53.14 from the 2012 Woodbury Relays.

Williamstown’s time is fastest by any Gloucester County school in nine years, since Kingsway ran 12:32.84 at the 2017 Woodbury Relays.

The splits that are listed don’t make sense, so if anybody has correct splits please shoot them over and I’ll add them.
