Natalie Dumas raced to the fastest 400 in New Jersey this year Saturday morning, winning the South Jersey Group 4 race in a season-best 52.28 at Lenape.

Dumas, who won the intermediate and 800 on Friday, set the meet record of 51.87 last year before setting a state record of 51.14 at West Philly nationals at Franklin Field.

Her previous-best this year and the previous fastest New Jersey time was a 53.45 last week at the Camden County Championships at Haddon Township.

In all, 10 girls broke 60 in a fast, deep race. Moorestown sophomore Hope Edwards was 2^nd in a PR 55.92, Kingsway sophomore Noemi Haller took 3^rd in 56.64, Atlantic City senior Taison Parker was 4^th in 57.22, Pennsauken junior Summer Schaeffer placed 5^th in 57.27, Williamstown junior Tristan Hughes ran 6^th in a PR 58.30, freshman Allana Peebles was 7^th with a PR 58.91, Kingsway freshman Abigail Asis ran a PR 59.71 for 9^th – her first time under 61 – and Bridgeton senior Amirah Murphy placed 10^th in 59.82.

The Winslow girls are up to 116 points with eight events left after a 1-2-3 sweep in the 400-meter dash at the South Jersey Group 3 Championships at Delsea.

Junior Cinniya Robinson, sophomore Amariah Arango and senior Olivia Okaro, who won the 100 on Friday, added 24 points to Winslow’s remarkable total through 10 events by sweeping the first event on Day 2.

Robinson, who was 2^nd in the intermediates on Friday, won the race in 55.66, Arango was 2^nd in 56.82 and Okaro ran 57.60 for 3^rd.

Triton junior Lyla Briggs ran 57.99 for 4^th, Timber Creek junior Taylor Gaines was 5^th in 58.33 and Deptford senior Taquirah Davis placed 6^th in 58.33.

Winslow senior Prince Owusu-Twum recorded the fastest 400 by a South Jersey runner this year Saturday morning at the Group 3 Sectionals at Delsea.

Owusu-Twum ran 48.12, dropping his PR from 48.46, which he just ran at the Camden County Championships last week at Haddon Township. Before that his PR was 49.31 from a meet earlier this month in Baltimore, and his lifetime best before this month was 49.70, so he’s dropped more than 1 ½ seconds just since the start of May.

His time is fastest in a South Jersey Group 3 race in 28 years, since Charlz Hester of Toms River South ran 47.4 at West Deptford. It’s the fastest FAT time, breaking the mark of 48.24 run by Pennsauken’s Premier Wynn at the 2022 meet, also at Delsea.

Owusu-Twum led three other runners under 49 seconds. Highland sophomore Elijah Capra ran 48.54 for 2^nd,  Timber Creek junior Timothy Whitaker was 3^{rd in with} 48.62 and Moorestown senior Sean Sobin took 4h in 48.77. Capra’s former PR was 48.72 and Sobin’s was 49.14. Whitaker has run slightly faster, 48.45.

Arkansas sophomore Dahlia Beasley from Washington Township recorded the 5^th-highest heptathlon score ever by a South Jersey woman Thursday and Friday at the SEC Championships.

In just her 3^rd lifetime multi-event competition, Beasley scored 5,367 points and placed 9^th among some of the top heptathletes in the country at Auburn’s Hutsell-Rosen Track.

Beasley opened with a huge hurdles PR of 14.16 for 956 points and then cleared a PR 5-7 ¼ in the high jump for 867 points. She threw 30-5 for 482 points in the shot but then posted the fastest 200 time of the competition, earning 973 points for a 24.08 with legal wind.

On Saturday, she started with another PR, hitting 19-3 ½ in the long jump, again with legal wind at 0.8. She threw the javelin 86-0 for 405 points before finishing with a 2:16.55 in the 800, just off her PR of 2:15.87 in a multi last month in Gainesville.

Beasley’s previous PRs were 14.75 wind-aided and 14.76 with legal wind, 5-7 in the high jump and 18-11 ¼ in the long jump.

Her previous heptathlon PR was 5,217 in Gainesville.

The only South Jersey women to record a higher heptathlon score are Nia Ali of Pleasantville [5,870 in Azusa, Calif., in 2016], Winslow’s Tionna Tobias [5,640 in Bloomington, Ind., in 2023], Bridgeton’s Shana Williams [5,565 in Buffalo in 1993] and Brianna Craig of Millville [5,460 in Bloomington in 2023].

Beasley’s score is No. 6 in Kentucky history and just 10 points out of 5^th.

Beasley never participated in a multi indoors or outdoors during her freshman year at Rutgers. Her first multi was just four months ago, a pentathlon in Fayetteville. Her first heptathlon was just last month in Austin, where she scored 5,143 points, improving to 5,217 in Gainesville and now 5,367.

Sianni Wynn began her final sectional meet with two firsts Friday in the South Jersey Group 4 meet at Lenape.

Wynn won the 100 in 11.63, leading a 1-2-6 Pennsauken finish, and also anchored Pennsauken’s 400-meter relay team, which set a meet record with a 46.31.

In the 100, Sanaya Dupree placed 2^nd in 11.99, and junior Summer Schaeffer was 6^th in a PR 12.33. Her previous PR was a 12.52 two weeks ago at the BCSL meet at Willingboro.

In the 4-by-1, Wynn and Schaeffer were joined by Dupree and Olivia Dupree, and their 46.31 broke the SJ-4 meet record of 47.03 that Pennsauken ran last year.

Wynn will run the 200 and anchor the 4-by-4 on Saturday.

Sophomore Hope Edwards placed 2^nd to Natalie Dumas in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best 1:01.35, No. 4 in New Jersey, No. 20 on the MileSplit national database and No. 5 among sophomores.

Pennsauken also scored half a point in the high jump, where freshman Angela Nguyen cleared 4-8 and tied for 6^th.

Dumas won the intermediates in 59.33 also won the 800 in 2:15.00.

Cherokee senior Alyssa Suriano won the 3,200 in 10:51.10, leading four runners below 11– Cherry Hill East sophomore Addison Weiss [10:52.54], Kingsway junior Aubrey Bishop [10:53.61] and Cherokee sophomore Erin Healy [10:54.57]. All four ran PRs.

Cherokee senior Addison Lore won the javelin at 127-8, a nearly seven-foot PR, and Williamstown junior Timia Waters won the triple jump at 38-2, also a PR.

Highland senior Zion Josia Brockenbrough popped the top discus throw in South Jersey this year Friday at the South Jersey Group 3 Sectionals at Delsea.

Brockenbrough threw 166-3 on his final attempt to bump Toms River East’s Jacob Humphrey out of the lead. Humphrey had thrown 156-1 on his 3^rd throw and Brockenbrough’s best through five rounds was 153-1.

Brockenbrough’s previous best was a 164-5 last week at the Camden County Championships at Haddon Township. His throw Friday is No. 13 in Camden County history.

Highland’s only previous sectional discus champ was Devon Starks, who threw 152-9 at the 2018 meet, also at Delsea.

Schalick senior David Stewart soared to the No. 6 triple jump in South Jersey history and No. 1 mark in New Jersey this year Friday at the South Jersey Group 1 Sectionals at Lenape.

Stewart, who PR’d late last month with a 47-8 ¼ at Pennsville, jumped 48-7 ¼ with a legal 1.4 tailwind on his final attempt to break his own Salem County record and top Glassboro sophomore Moses Robles, who had taken the lead with a PR of his own at 47-5 on his 5^th jump with a legal 1.2 wind reading.

Stewart won South Jersey Group 1 last year at 45-4 ¼. He’s the first repeat winner since Allen Killbrew of Penns Grove in 2014 and 2015.

Stewart won the triple jump as part of the first sectional triple ever by a Schalick athlete. He also won the long jump and 400-meter hurdles.

In the triple jump, Stewart broke the meet record of 48-3 ¼ set at 2009 Sectionals at Egg Harbor by Glassboro’s Ryan Chance.

Robles improved his PR from 46-7 from the Woodbury Relays and improved to No. 6 in Gloucester County history. His 47-5 is 3^rd-best ever by a South Jersey sophomore and best by a New Jersey sophomore this year. It’s No. 14 nationally among sophomores in the MileSplit U.S. database.

Stewart also won the long jump with a PR 22-8 ½ and the 400-meter hurdles in 55.33. His previous long jump PR was a 22-3 ¾ from the Woodbury Relays. He’s run 54.22 in the intermediates

Senior Jaeden Wesley, sophomore Zaccheaus Harrigan and sophomore Moses Robles led Glassboro to a 74-point Day 1 in the South Jersey Group 1 sectionals Friday at Lenape.

With nine events in the books, Glassboro leads Schalick 74-48, with Camden [34] and Woodstown [32] in 3rd and 4th.

Glassboro’s remarkable sophomore class scored 39 points, with a freshman adding six more. Wesley was the only senior to score.

Wesley won the 3,200 in a lifetime-best 9:34.67, leading a 1-2-6 Glassboro finish with sophomore Joe Saicic [2nd in 9:37.34] and sophomore Gavin Rakitis [6th in PR 9:56.59], Harrigan placed 2nd in the 800 [PR 1:55.06] and intermediate hurdles [58.24] and Robles was 2nd in the triple jump [PR 47-5] and 3rd in the long jumpo [21-8 ½].

Freshman Gabriel Tarevich threw 137-5 in the discus for 3rd place, junior Marley Crowl placed 5th in both horizontal jumps [20-11 ¾, 42-11 ½], sophomore Aaron Johnson took 6th in the 800 [PR 1:59.19], junior Joseph Delecce was 4th in the discus [PR 131-9] and junior Logan Toledo was 3rd in the pole vault [12-0].

Also, sophomore Miles Taylor, sophomore Alex Adeleye, junior Marley Crowl and junior Ta’sheem Butler ran 43.97 for 4th in the 400-meter relay.

At Delsea, Haddonfield leads Pleasantville 53-36 in Group 2 and Deptford is up 55-52 on Winslow, and in Group 4 at Lenape Southern Regional [34] and Toms River North [31] lead Eastern [28], Williamstown [28], Bridgeton [26], Egg Harbor [24], Cherry Hill East [23], Rancocas Valley [22] and Millville [22].

The Audubon girls, seeking their second sectional championship in three years, piled up 75 points on Day 1 of the South Jersey Group 1 meet at Lenape.

Audubon scored in seven of nine events – all but the shot put and javelin – and leads Glassboro 75-46 after the first day of competition at Lenape. Audubon won its 1^st two sectional titles in 2024 and 2025.

Senior Riley Fayer and freshman Emma Camm ran 1-2 in the 3,200 and 1-4 in the 800 for 32 points, with Fayer running a season-best 2:16.66 in the 800 and and Camm a PR 2:23.98. They ran 11:21.91 and 11:30.82 in the 3,200, with Camm recording her 2^nd PR of the day. Junior Lydia Gravante added a point with a 6^th-place finish in the 3,200 with a PR 12:08.19.

Audubon went 1-3-T4 for 19 more points in the high jump, with senior Julianna Laxton clearing 5-2 for the win, freshman Kathryn Black 4-10 for 3^rd and senior Marissa DeValerio 4-10 for 5^th.

Audubon was 2^nd in the 4-by-1 with junior Kathryn McGuire, junior Sophia Rizzo, senior Kylie Tocco and senior Julianna Laxton running 50.29.

McGuire also ran 12.79 for 2^nd place in the 100, freshman Sabrina Passon ran 1:08.95 in the 400 hurdles for 3^rd place and senior Marissa DeValerio placed 6^th in the triple jump with a 34-0.

At Delsea, Haddonfield leads Barnegat and Lindenwold 45-38 after Day 1 in Group 2 and Winslow already has a ridiculous 92 points with Ocean City 2^nd with 37 as Winslow seeks its 12^th sectional title in the last 13, and in Group 4 at Lenape, Southern is up 53-40 over Cherokee, with Pennsauken at 37 ½ going into Saturday.

Glassboro senior Sunsarai Moore shattered the South Jersey Group 1 sectional shot put record with a PR 44-4 ½ Friday afternoon at Lenape.

Moore had a huge series with a PR 43-8 ½ opener, another PR 43-9 ¼ on her 2^nd attempt, a 44-2 on her 3^rd and then her 4^th PR of her series at 44-4 ½ on her 1^st throw of the finals. She fouled before finishing with a 41-7 ¼.

Moore’s previous PR was a 42-7 ¾ just last week at the Tri-County Showcase at Delsea, so she had the four-best throws of her life on Friday.

Moore broke the meet record of 43-7 set by Schalick’s Zyra Thomas in 2018 at Washington Township.

Her throw is No. 15 in South Jersey history and No. 6 on the all-time Gloucester County list. It’s No. 2 by a South Jersey Group 1 thrower behind Thomas’s 46-0 ½ at 2018 Greensboro Nationals.

Moore is Glassboro’s 1^st sectional shot put champ since Shamere Rothmiller won her 3^rd straight South Jersey Group 2 title in 2008. Moore broke Rothmiller’s school record of 43-7 from the 2008 Woodbury Relays
