Winslow’s Amariah Arango, Cinniya Robinson, Olivia Okaro and Jasmine Jackson placed 3rd in a smoking hot 55 1,600-meter relay, shattering the South Jersey record, posting the 6th-fastest time in state history and earning All-America honors for all four runners.
Winslow ran 3:43.38, smashing the South Jersey indoor record of 3:44.74 that Winslow set at this meet last year..
Winslow finished behind two national all-star spring factories – Bullis School of Potomac, Md., which ran 3:40.55, and Monteverde (Fla.) Academy, which ran 3:42.08. Their times are 8th– and 14th-fastest in U.S. scholastic history.
For Winslow, Arango led off with a 56.38, Robinson ran 55.18, Okaro split 56.71 and Jackson, who had just run the 3rd-fastest 60 hurdles race in New Jersey history, anchored in 55.13. Jackson was part of two South Jersey records in about two hours.
Winslow actually ran faster than the South Jersey outdoor record of 3:43.46 set by Winslow’s Arango, Jackson, Skyhe Seamon and Robinson last April at the Penn Relays.
A Winslow B team placed 16th in 3:55.27, with Jones, Lovelace-Crump, Cato and Leeya Joseph. Jones led off in 60.43, Lovelace-Crump split 57.20, Cato ran 59.02 and Joseph anchored in 58.63.
Kingsway ran a season-best 4:01.70, winning its section with with junior Norah Brown running a 58.52 3rd leg and sophomore Noemi Haller anchoring in 56.43. Senior Savannah Aulich and junior Kenya Nobles ran the first two legs.
