The Winslow girls ran the 8th-fastest 4-by-4 in state history Sunday at the Meet of Champions and were less than a second off their South Jersey record.
Olivia Okaro, Cinniya Robinson, Nylah Lovelace-Crump and Leeya Joseph ran 3:45.50 at the Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze, placing 2nd to Union Transfer. Both UT and Winslow ran under the previous meet record of 3:45.70 set by the Scotch Plains-based all-star program last year.
Winslow set the South Jersey record 3:44.74 at last year’s Boston Nationals with Robinson joined by Skyhe Seamon, Amariah Arango and Jasmine Jackson.
Okaro led off in 56.41, Robinson split 55.55, Lovelace-Crump ran 57.14 and Joseph, who earier broke the meet record in the long jump, anchored in 56.40.
Winslow’s time is No. 7 in the U.S. this year, according to the MileSplit national database. UC is No. 1 nationally with its 3:41.91 on Sunday.
Union Catholic and Winslow are responsible for 10 of the 13-fastest times in meet history. Winslow has run the three-fastest times by South Jersey schools in meet history.
