Deptford boys win Easterns 4×2 with fastest time this year in South Jersey!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deptford seniors Johann Hernandez and Damon Alberson, junior Xavion Holmes and freshman Liam Brown became the first South Jersey school under 1:30 thi year and won the Easterns 800-meter relay Tuesday night at the Armory.

Deptford ran a season-best 1:30.18 in the trials and then dropped to 1:29.55 in the final, winning by seven meters over Hunterdon Central, who was 2nd in 1:30.27.

This is the 2nd 4-by-2 win at Easterns for Deptford, who won the 2015 race in 1:30.51 with Walter Victor, Anthony Hernandez, Derrick Clement and Eric Hill.

Deptford is the first South Jersey school to win Easterns 4-by-200 since Rancocas Valley with Brian Merriman, Sam Keleekai, Rob Hawkins and Brandon Boggs.

Deptford’s time is 4th-fastest in New Jersey this year.
