Winslow’s Tionna Tobias uncorked her 2nd-longest long jump ever Saturday and placed 4th at the USATF Championships at the Armory.
Tobias jumped a season-best 21-1 ¼ on each of her first two attempts before fouling three times and then closing with a 21-5 ½ on her final attempt to improve from 5th to 4th.
Her previous indoor PR was a 21-0 ¼ in Albuquerque in February 2024. Her only superior jump is her 22-9 ¼ at the Holloway Pro Classic at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville in July 2024.
Tobias came into the meet ranked 19th among U.S. women, so a 4th-place finish is huge for the former Iowa Hawkeye.
