Senior Savannah Aulich, junior Norah Brown, sophomore Noemi Haller, junior Kenya Nobles an sophowon the deciding 4-by-4 relay, and junior Aubrey Bishop won the 3,200 helping Kingsway win its 2nd indoor sectional title.
Kingsway defeated 2nd-place Cherokee 47-36 two win the South Jersey Group 4 Sectional Championship Sunday at the Bubble in Toms River. The Dragons also won SJ-4 in 2020.
Aulich, Brown, Haller and Nobles ran 4:05.45 to win a very close relay that saw the first four finishers all within two seconds of each other.
Bishop, who ran 13:24 at outdoor sectionals last spring at Pennsauken, ran more than two minutes faster Sunday, winning with a big PR 11:10.65.
Kingsway got two big races from Haller in addition to the relay. She ran a lifetime-best 7.35 for 3rd in the 55 and 58.56 for 2nd in the 400.
Nobles placed 2nd in the high jump with a 4-10 clearance, senior Lariah Miles ran 8.86 or 4th in the hurdles and Brown took 5th in the 400 in 1:00.75.
Eastern senior Natalie Dumas won the 400 in 56.33 and 800 in 2:19.51 and was 2nd in the mile with a 5:06. She also anchorded Eastern’s 4th-place relay team, which also included senior Adriana Marella, junior Poetry Anderson and junior Jolie Merhi.
Atlantic Tech junior Brianna Growalt ran 58.79 for 3rd in the 400
Cherokee senior Sofia Recinto took 2nd in the 800 in 2:20.91, senior Madeline Meder placed 3rd in the 1,600 in 5:06.64 and senior Addison Lore threw 34-10 ¼ for 2nd in the shot.
Rancocas Valley senior La’el Yates cleared 11-0 on her 1st attempt to win the pole vault, Red Devils senior Angelina Brown ran 7.34 for 2nd in the 55 and cleared 4-10 for 3rd in the high jump and sophomore Isabella Santamaria was 3rd in the vault at 10-0.
Cherry Hill East sophomore Addison Weiss ran 11:15.70 for 2nd in the 3,200.
Williamstown senior Brynn Greenwood cleared 10-6 for 2nd place in the pole vault, and senior Sophia Aldridge ran 11:15.94 for 3rd in the 3,200. Williamstown placed 2nd in the 1,600-meter relay in 4:06.32 with junior Chanelle Briscoe, sophomore Yazmire Bonhomme, junior Timi Waters and junior Tristan Hughes.
Millville sophomore Abri Brown threw 36-1 to win the shot put by over a foot.
