Huge mile PR Saturday for Paul VI’s Shaelan McNally, a sophomore at Bucknell.
McNally, who is from Haddon Heights, lowered her indoor PR from 4:52.90 for 1,600 meters at the 2024 Meet of Champions at Ocean Breeze – which equals 4:54.6 for a full mile, although you can’t convert up – to 4:49.32 at the Ott Center.
That’s 2nd-fastest in Bucknell history, behind only a 4:43.12 by Christine Bendzinski of Rham High School in Hebron, Conn., at Boston University in 2018.
McNally’s lifetime best is a 4:45.91 in a mixed race at Holmdel outdoors in May 2024.
McNally’s previous collegiate best was a 4:55.66 at Penn State last month. Her 4:49.32 is 6th-fastest in the Patriot Conference this year.
McNally split 72.04, 73.02, 73.44 and 70.83, negtive splitting 2:25.06 and 2:24.26. She moved up four spot over the final 800 and two over the final 200 to finish 7th in a very fast field.
