Buena senior Yandel Montanez recorded a two-foot indoor long jump PR at the SJTCA meet at the Bubble Tuesday night.
Montanez jumped 21-9 ½ after starting the day with an indoor PR of 19-9 from Ocean Breeze last February. Those are the only two indoor meets he’s ever long jumped at.
That 21-9 ½ is No. 9 in Atlantic County history and just 5 ½ inches outside the No. 2 spot. Montanez opened with jumps of 19-3 ¼ and 19-6 ½ before PR’ing for the first time with a 20-6 and again with the 21-9 ½ on his 4th and final jump.
He has an outdoor PR of 22-0 from the Atlantic County Championships in May at Egg Harbor.
