Paul VI senior Claire Magee, junior Grace Gutowski, senior Macy Huber and sophomore Peyton Blake placed 3rd in the distance medley Wednesday at the state relays.
Splits not available because it’s an NJSIAA meet and they can’t be bothered by things like relay splits, but PVI ran 12:33.40 and finished behind Oak Knoll School of Summit [12:21.25] and Scotch Plains all-star program [12:27.46].
PVI’s time is 3rd-fastest in South Jersey this year, behind Ocean City [12:24.53] and Cherokee [12:25.94], both from last week at the Ott Center. It’s No. 6 in New Jersey this year.
The performance is No. 3 all-time indoors by PVI behind last year’s 12:19.62 at the Ott Center and a 12:31.11 at Ocean Breeze in 2023.
Paul VI also placed 3rd in the 4-by-4 in 4:16.54 with Magee, freshman Jennifer Cosner,Blake and Gutowski. PVI placed 8th in team scoring with those two 3rd places for 12 points.
